Rovings

FLEECES / ROVINGS / YARNS

We offer clean fleeces and sumptuous rovings in Shetland, Shetland and kid mohair, Shetland and silk, Shetland, silk and angora and pure angora. Our yarns are handspun or gently mill-spun in 2 or 3-ply. They are naturally coloured or hand-dyed.

Shetland wool is known around the world for being soft, yet strong. The fleece is easy to wash and card. It is a dream to spin and knit.

Fleeces usually weigh 2-6 lbs. Staple length is most often 4-6 inches.

Shetland Sheep come in 11 main colours and 30 pattern markings. A number of Shetland breeders, like ourselves, have artificially inseminated our sheep with imported Shetland semen. We have done this to insure that colours, patterns, and fleece-types do not disappear.

We will offer Romeldale Fleeces, Rovings and yarns in 2011.
